A seasoned litigator, Gillian leads the MinterEllisonRuddWatts Auckland Litigation Division and Employment team. She regularly represents clients at all levels of the court system and has been integral in growing the firm’s national Health and Safety team. Gillian assists boards of directors to manage health and safety risks by providing directors’ duties advice and practical solutions to meet those duties. She has experience with Coronial Inquests, WorkSafe Investigations, subsequent prosecutions and communicating with media and key stakeholders. She is recognised as a thought leader on workplace issues, particularly the interplay between health and safety, employment and privacy law considerations when dealing with mental health in the workplace. This has included proactive management strategies and systems and supporting employers navigate the numerous workstreams that arise following a workplace suicide. Gillian has a keen interest in the future of work and how workplaces and the laws that apply to them keep pace with change.
